HOW YOUR
FEED WORKS

Every platform says "the algorithm" like it's a mystery. We'd rather show you ours — every signal it listens to, every rule it follows, and every way you can change it.

Your taste profile

Before the feed shows you anything, it builds a picture of what you're into — from the profiles you follow: their categories, subcategories and tags.

Nothing is bought or guessed. Your taste is earned one follow at a time, and it changes the moment your follows do.

Easy explanation

Imagine a party host who remembers exactly who you like hanging out with — and seats new people at your table based on that.

Every follow is a lesson. Unfollow, and the feed forgets.

How a profile earns its spot

Every candidate profile collects points for the things it has in common with you:

  • Same world — the profile sits in a category you already follow.
  • Closer matches — the same subcategory, or overlapping tags.
  • You asked for more — your 'show more like this' requests jump it up.
  • You asked for less — your 'show less' pushes it down.
  • Trust — verified and featured badges count.
  • Popularity — how many fans it has.
  • Freshness — profiles updated in the last few days get a nudge.

We keep the exact math internal so we can keep tuning it for everyone — but the ingredients are all here, and that's the part that matters to you.

Easy explanation

Think scoreboard. A profile collects points for everything it has in common with you — the highest scores get the best seats.

The tag on the card tells you how strong the match is.

The match tag

The small coloured label on each card is the feed being honest with you:

Top MatchGreat MatchSuggested
  • Top Match — Closest to what you already fan and follow.
  • Great Match — Same world, new faces.
  • Suggested — Worth a look based on your activity.

No label at all? The feed is just introducing you to something new. Nothing wrong with that.

Easy explanation

It's like a sticker on a book cover that tells you why the librarian picked it for you.

Match tags sit right on the card — no digging required.

The category bar

The row of buttons sitting right under the header on Home. They work like filters. Trending, For You and All always come first, in that order. After that come yours — the categories, subcategories and tags you actually engage with, counted from the profiles you follow.

Ask for "show more" of something and its button jumps ahead of the counted ones. The bar never grows past 14 buttons, anything too similar to another merges into one, and anything you've said "show less" to stays off the bar completely.

Easy explanation

Like the preset buttons on a car radio — your favourite stations, one tap away, always in the same spot.

The featured circles

The circles at the top of Home and Discover. Anyone can pay to lead the row — and paid spots are always labelled, so you always know what's earned and what's bought. Behind them: profiles featured on merit, most recently updated first.

The ring around each circle means something too — memorial, unclaimed, promoted, active. There's a legend inside the app.

And hiding always wins: hide or block anyone and they're gone from the featured row for you — even if they paid.

Easy explanation

A storefront window. The paid spots sit at the front — and they always wear a name tag that says so.

Focus Mode

Sometimes you want the volume down. Focus Mode is a switch — it removes news and politics entirely and keeps learning and education, but it doesn't re-rank anything. It's a filter, not a second algorithm.

Your match points are ignored while it's on, and your hidden profiles still stay hidden.

Easy explanation

A quiet room. Nothing gets re-arranged — the loud stuff just stays outside.

One switch. No news, no politics.

You're the DJ

Every ranking above is something you can change, without asking anyone:

  • Show more / show less — long-press any card in your feed.
  • Hide — removes a profile from your feeds, featured row included.
  • Unfollow — your taste profile updates instantly.
  • Focus Mode — the quiet switch, top of Home.

There's no hidden tuning you can't reach. If the feed shows you something, you can tell it why.

Easy explanation

You're the DJ. Change the song, and the dance floor changes with it.
